Stretching is widely supported today as a vital part of fitness. With the ability to reduce stress, increase circulation, ease lower back pain, increase flexibility, increase range of movement and more, stretching should become a part of everyone's exercise routine. I believe stretching should be incorporated into everyone's life in order to aid easy movement in the body.
Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. The main components of yoga are postures (a series of movements designed to increase strength and flexibility) and breathing. The practice originated in India about 5,000 years ago, and has been adapted in other countries in a variety of ways. Individual or small group classes are available.
Personal training either on an individual or in small groups basis. With personal training you can chose to target your specific needs and goals. This can be accomplished through individualised training which can be comprised of any or all of the following: cardio-vascular, resistance, corework, suspension, padwork through high to low intensity workouts.
I am a Level 4 Personal Trainer, Yoga Teacher and Trigger Point Pilates Instructor. If you are recovering from injury/operation or have some more serious medical condition I can help. I can offer sessions in just one of these areas or a combination. Trigger Point Pilates combines pilates based exercise with Myofacia release. This training method helps alleviate chronic pain conditions and constant muscular tightness, undoing muscular restrictions and enhances functional movement. At the end of a class one feels light, lengthened and able to move with total ease.
I have lived a life in the pursuit of health and fitness and in the course of this have personal experience of many forms of fitness ranging from swimming to martial arts and varied stops in between! In other words I speak from experience, a personal voyage that has led me to pursue a career in an area in which I hold a lifelong interest and fascination. I believe in balance - if you want to add strength you also need to work on stretching so as to facilitate the body working in harmony.
